I want to express the biggest THANK YOU to Trillium House-Birth Center for being a safe, healthy space for me to birth. Birth is the most ancient experience and bodies know what to do, if allowed to do it and feel at peace. I am forever grateful that I was able to birth the way I wanted, with the kind of support I wanted. Trillium House is an alternative to bright lights and alarmist energy, yet is staffed by the most capable and wise women. It feels safe, and I know that’s why Lunar basically slid out with 3-4 convulsions - I was certainly involved but I did next to nothing when the actual moment came. I’ve since learned this gift is called fetal ejection reflex. To enter a peaceful, quiet world is another gift. Thank you.

I had the most wonderful birth experiences with midwives who made space for me, called me into the job at hand, rejoiced with me, and then left like magic fairies with the house as tidy as a pin! I reluctantly counted each after-birth visit, wishing I didn't have to end the relationship with these wonderful, wise women. I wish every family experienced birth this way; nurtured, accepted, guided, and empowered to understand and walk through this healthy and natural process.

For those interested in the home birth route but aren’t totally comfortable giving birth at their own home, Trillium House is a wonderful alternative for the Lynchburg area. Just delivered my son there a few days ago and can’t express enough how pleased I am with the experience. I got the out of hospital birth that I wanted and the level of support, flexibility, professionalism and overall PEACE was something I’ll forever be grateful for.

Trillium gave me so much hope for the birth I wanted! The classes were incredible and informative. The doula team worked hard to create a positive experience for me and my family. The atmosphere at Trillium made my birth experience feel peaceful! I cannot say enough about Trillium, they are truly amazing!

I cannot say enough good things about the Trillium House-Birth Center! It is a beautiful, peaceful and welcoming space for families and I have loved working with Leslie, Rachel and Julia. Everyone is so knowledgeable, respectful and supportive. I worked with Leslie for both of my births and I don’t plan on going anywhere else. I did plan on home births but the care provided, whether at home or at Trillium, is always excellent. Work with the Team at Trillium, you will not regret it ❤️

My first two deliveries were hospital births and I quite honestly did not realize there were other options. With my first two pregnancies, I was shuffled from doctor to doctor each visit, pressured into various medical decisions that made me uncomfortable, and not given informed consent on many of the drugs administered during labor. Both times, a doctor delivered my baby whom I had never met before. When my husband and I learned of the coming of our third baby, we knew it had to be different. We chose Trillium House to provide care for me and my baby prenatally and for the birth.

My midwife, Nikki, cared for our family during the process, always providing informed consent. She made me feel empowered and responsible for the care of my own baby. My doula, Lynn, did not leave my side during labor. I could write pages on the love and motivation I felt from my doula. In contrast to my previous births with an epidural and “coached pushing”, my body literally delivered my baby on its own. She was perfect.

My husband told me he never knew the type of care that women could have in this process and I wholeheartedly agree. Thank you, Nikki, Lynn, and Julia for helping me achieve the birth that best protected my baby and empowered our family. Thank you, Trillium House, for providing the resources I needed to make informed decisions along the way and for the love you showed to me and my family. I am forever grateful.

My midwife had so much God-given wisdom throughout my pregnancy, birth, and even afterwards. Thankful for the strength God gave me to trust my body and do what it was created to do. Thankful for my family, friends, and birthing community at Trillium House-Birth Center who encouraged me along the way and who educated me on what informed consent looks like when it comes to pregnancy, labor, and birth.
